Travel, acting and directing in Edom and Tyler civic theatre, Edom Civic Theatre Board member, McClendon House Board member & Secretary, serve on the Edom City Council, volunteer with Tours of Tyler, member of Rose City Wine Club, Chairman of the Employee Advisory Committee for Health & Human Services in Austin.

When I graduated I got married, got a job, enrolled at TJC, had a baby and been running ever since! I've had some GREAT jobs (Caldwell Zoo, Frito-Lay, Coca-Cola) and some not-so-great ones (Southland, Black Sheep Mfg). I worked as a Human Resources Director for many, many years but in 2007 I decided to go for "happy with great benefits" instead of "miserable with great pay". I went to work for the State of Texas in Regional Administrative Services which is part of Health and Human Services and I LOVE IT. I am the assistant to the Regional Director for East Texas. I was married to Ronny for 42 years and we have one son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren, one boy and one girl.

In 2002 Ronny had a heart attack and then developed major complications immediately after surgery. He was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and was put on a respirator and in a medically induced coma. He was in a coma for 4 months and in the hospital for 5 months. Even in a medically induced coma there are some longterm mental issues to deal with if they survive. He came home in a wheelchair and on 24 hour oxygen, but today he is able to walk and off all oxygen. He is able to stay at home alone during the day while I work and loves to travel with me when I have to go. I am blessed to still have him with me.

We love to travel with the family and try to cruise at least once a year and travel to Disney World once or twice each year. Last November we took an extended family trip and rented a very large van to drive to California and Las Vegas. There were 8 of us and while I love my family, I will probably not do that again :) ..... well, maybe to Florida...

I act a little and have been in various plays at the Tyler Civic Theater and also the Edom Community Center. I also write short stories and do some weekend camping with the family (RV only...no tents!! :)

I wish I had fonder memories of High School....but....LOL!! I only remember that I was pretty shy back in those days and didn't put myself out there much. High School would be one of my "do overs" if I had the chance (and know what I know now!).
